Young adults from across the country are mapping their communities and sharing the results in the Village MapGuides application. Open the app and use the guide to enjoy detailed descriptions of plants and animals you will encounter on your journey through any of the featured villages.
Geotourism was popularized by the National Geographic Society. Geotourism programs are aligned and work together based on the Geotourism Principles and the Geotourism Charter.
Geotourism Indonesia is a network for village tourism programs to provide training opportunities for young adults and nature and culture activities for residents and tourists alike. Geotourism Indonesia brings young adults together to serve their communities while they gain technical skills training. Join us to celebrate and appreciate what makes each Indonesian community unique!
Impact and success are measured in many ways including
95 Number of youth and young adult participants gaining new technical skills and experience
8 Number of villages participating
@1000/week Number of tourists enjoying nature and culture activities throughout Indonesia (reflected in how many people use the applications)
+20/week Number of community organizations who are made aware of the program.
None of this would be possible without the donations of program supporters: Thank You! Geotourism is on track to create and 16 additional internships for local young adults in 2017, as well as providing workshops and learning opportunities for up to 2500 youth in villages around Bali.
